BLM Surface Management Data – New!

The first release of the new BLM National Surface Management Agency (SMA) GIS Data is now available on GeoCommunicator www and web.  Here is a link to the Data and Map Services (* note map services are in the process of being updated within the next week): http://www.geocommunicator.gov/GeoComm/services.htm#Download

There are 3 new layers: 

• SMA Withdrawals
• Special Public Purpose Withdrawal Areas
• Surface Management Agency

The data is currently planned for refresh monthly but will not be integrated into the Geocommunicator interactive map viewer. Please feel free to contact Beth Wenstrom (contact info below) should you have any questions, comments or recommendations regarding these data which they can share with the appropriate BLM State Office responsible for the content.
