New GSA Fellow—Jim Faulds

Congratulations to Jim Faulds, NBMG Director and State Geologist, for being elected as Fellow to the Geological Society of America.

From GSA website: Faulds was recognized for fundamental work on the tectonics and structural geology of the Basin and Range province. An accomplished mapper, Faulds has integrated detailed geologic mapping into nearly all his work, which has had direct applications to earthquake hazards, industrial minerals, metallic ore deposits, and geothermal resources (from Jon Price).
