Keck Museum Lecture Series – January 17, 2014

Keck Earth Science and Mineral Engineering Museum, UNR: I am sending you this email to let you know about a program this Friday January 17th at the Keck Museum in connection with the Moon Rock exhibit. The program is called “Space Aliens from the Moon: Animal Testing and Moon Rocks.” [Copied below is] a write-up by the presenter Dr. Richard Simmonds, for more information. The program begins at 7 pm.

Lunar Quarantine Program for Keck Museum Lecture Series

Title: “Space Aliens from the Moon: Animal Testing and Moon Rocks

Abstract for Distribution: This program will be presented by Dr. Richard Simmonds, UNR Director and Professor Emeritus, who worked with NASA during the period 1970-1977 and who was one of the Area Test Directors for the Lunar Quarantine and Biocharacterization Programs (LQBP) for Apollo Missions 14, 15, 16, and 17. In the approximately 40 minute presentation using PowerPoint® slides, Dr. Simmonds will review the reasons for establishment of the LQBP, the quarantine and test procedures for the lunar material and astronauts, and the results of the tests. A question and answer period will follow the formal presentation.
