Our first colloquium talk will be this Wednesday Jan 31st in DMS 105. Dr. Matthew Lachniet, Department of Geoscience at UNLV will be giving a talk: Holocene hot droughts in the Great Basin driven by Arctic sea ice retreat and tropical Pacific ocean temperatures. Matt is an isotope geochemist who works on past climate and in addition to the Great Basin has worked in Mexico, Central America and Alaska.
