AEG Monthly Meeting—March 15

DATE: Thursday, March 15, 2018
SPEAKER: Dennis M. Anderson, P.E., Principal Engineer
TOPIC: Revolutionary Geotechnical Technology

BIOGRAPHY: Mr. Anderson has over 40 years of professional experience, including several patents for the use of electrical geophysics for geotechnical engineering quality control testing. The geotechnical engineering technologies pioneered by Mr. Anderson are used in over 40 countries. The speaker has over 35 years of natural resource-based, engineering, geology and management experience both in industry and government. Mr. Anderson has a comprehensive understanding of natural resource management-issues and technologies, mine engineering, land-use planning, and governmental regulations and policies and has worked on numerous mining projects as a project engineer and project manager.

ABSTRACT: The Electrical Density Gauge LLC was formed and capitalized to commercialize the new density technology. The project spanned over 26 years of work from the initial research to the commercialization of a new geotechnical engineering technology for the determination of in-situ density and moisture content of soil for use in civil engineering. Every soil type has a unique geo-electric signature. When this signature is researched and established for a given soil type and integrated with physical properties, then that data may be used to determine the material moisture and density by only measuring the electrical properties.
