A message from Rick Zehner, New NPGS President: “Welcome to the 2020 – 2021 Nevada Petroleum and Geothermal Society calendar year!
This promises to be a very different year for NPGS, primarily because of the coronavirus. The folks at our usual hangout at Tamarack Junction have told us that their meeting rooms will remain closed through the rest of 2020. Because of this, and for obvious safety reasons, we will not be meeting there for the foreseeable future. And we will not be having our usual September meeting.
We are working on having our monthly meetings via Zoom until the COVID-19 situation improves. We plan to have the Thursday October 1 meeting remotely using Zoom, with our first speaker of the year being Michael Say. Details on how to sign up and get to this Zoom meeting will be sent out shortly.
In other news, we are planning one or more field trips during the spring and summer of 2021, assuming that COVID-19 doesn’t prevent us from doing so. More news on this later.
Once again we’re asking for volunteers to help manage the organization. Please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call me if you’re interested.”
